William spent a lot of childhood around horses and at the age of 8 he started competing in jumping on ponies. Four years later, he won his first of three pony titles at the Horse of the Year Show.
He won Individual Gold at the Junior European Championships in 2006 and he then won European Team Gold as a young rider in 2007.
After finishing school he spent a stint in America training with showjumper, Aaron Vale, then worked at his uncle's [Michael Whitaker] yard before he setting up on his own in 2011.
As a senior rider, William has been selected for a number of Great Britain's Nations Cup teams, and represented Team GBR at the European Championships in 2017 and the World Equestrian Games in 2018.
