early equestrian experiences

I have been riding all my life, but started jumping competitively at the age of eight. My mother and her side of the family have always been passionate about horses, but have never competed professionally. My father, while interested in horses, only got to go pony trekking for his birthday treat once a year – little did he know his life would soon revolve around horses. I was briefly a member of the local Pony Club and enjoyed “Chase me Charlie” events and gymkhana games.

youth teams

I've been fortunate enough to jump on several Youth Nations Cup Teams, including winning Pony team gold at Lamprechsthausen, Junior Nations Cup individual gold in Zuidwolde and Young Rider team bronze in Zuidwolde.

key moments

Some of my key moments are...

  • Clear and top 10 in my first 3* LR Grand Prix
  • 2nd in 4* 1.45 Grand Prix.
  • 2* Medium Tour Grand Prix winner
  • Leading Rider at the Young Rider viewing trials, after winning both qualifiers and finishing 2nd in the Grand Prix.
  • Winner of eight-year-old final on the Sunshine Tour with a horse I've produced since a four-year-old.

home life

Growing up, being based in Devon as a showjumper wasn't ideal, but my parents did all they could to allow me to compete around the UK and Europe. At age 18, after completing my A levels, I left home and, after a brief spell near Newbury, I spent some time gaining experience at the Beerbaum Stables, before returning to the UK and working for Joe Stockdale. I've been based with Anthony Condon for the last 12 months, but recently moved to my auntie’s new yard – it's just down the road, so I'll continue training with Anthony. I am very lucky with the new facilities I have available and feel motivated for the future.

equestrian ambitions

My ambitions for the next few years are to continue to build a strong team of horses and to be competitive in age classes, as well as competing in Senior Nations Cup Teams. My long-term aims are to become a well recognized CSI5* rider, winning at the highest level of the sport and winning medals for my country.

being on the world class programme

The training so far has been very beneficial, particularly working on pole work and small jump exercises, while focusing on small details to improve myself and my horses. The support from the World Class Programme has been excellent and I find it reassuring to have experts on hand for advice.

anything else

In the small amount of free time I have, I like to socialise with friends. I very much enjoy high-adrenaline sports, such as skiing and mountain biking. I enjoy working on my strength and fitness in the gym, too.
