Ursula Levett

Ursula – or Urssie to her friends – has horses in her blood, but logic would say she should be an event rider. Her father Bill Levett is an Australian Olympic eventer who has made Britian his home for over 30 years, while mum Jenny competed nationally with British Eventing. Her twin brother, Joshua, followed in their parents' footsteps and is carving out a successful eventing career for himself, competing up to CCI4* level and representing Britain at Junior and Young Rider European Championships.

However, living near the Unicorn Vaulting Group in the Cotswolds, it was the unique discipline of vaulting that took Ursula's passion.

She began to focus on the sport in earnest in 2015 and received her first senior call up in 2019, when she was part of the FEI European Championship team who finished 10th in Ermelo, the Netherlands. She remained a team regular up until 2023 and was part of the British squad at the FEI World Championship in Herning, Denmark that year, before she began to concentrate on the individual and Pas-de-Deux (pairs) competitions. It was in September of same year that she made a huge life decision and moved away from the family home to Aachen, Germany to pursue her vaulting ambitions under the guidance of two-time World Champion, Pauline Riedl. Pauline owns Urssie’s top horse, Soel’rings Million Voices, and will be her Lunger at the FEI World Championship in Aachen.

In December 2025, Ursula was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic autoimmune condition which causes pain, swelling, stiffness and fatigue. It was an enormous blow for her as an athlete, but the set-back didn’t end there – further tests revealed she also had silent celiac disease. Working with her doctors, coaches and physios, Urssie has completely revised her nutrition and training regime to prioritise health and performance so she can still train and compete. In her words; “It meant learning to train smarter, listen to my body and adapt without giving up the things I love.”

Mum Jenny has acted as her lunger at many competitions throughout her career, but will act as Chef d’Equipe this year in Aachen .

For Urssie, vaulting is a passion and she’s made the ultimate commitment and sacrifices to follow her dreams. On her GoFundMe page, she remarks; “Vaulting is the most indescribable feeling. When I vault, I breathe and I am truly happy. I feel the horses canter and how we are working together, I am at home.”
