Scott Brash

  • Age: 40

Born in Peebles, Scott grew up riding ponies with his sister Lea and started showjumping with The Pony Club at the age of 10. He made his senior championship debut at the World Equestrian Games in 2010 riding Intertoy Z. That was the same year that Scott took the ride on the legendary Hello Sanctos. The pair were on the team that won historic team gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games, then team gold and individual bronze in the FEI European Championships in 2013.

Scott finished third in the FEI World Cup Final in 2014 with Ursula XII.

He contested his second World Equestrian Games with Hello Sanctos in 2014, then took team bronze with Hello M'Lady at the FEI European Championship in 2019. He received his second Olympic call-up for the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games, riding Hello Jefferson, where they qualified for the individual final. 

In 2022, Scott was part of the team that took a historic team bronze medal at the FEI World Championship in Herning, Denmark. He finished the year on a high with a win at the London International Horse Show leg of the FEI World Cup series with Hello Jefferson. 

Again partnering Hello Jefferson, Scott was selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alongside his Tokyo 2020 teammates, Harry Charles and Ben Maher. As the anchor combination going in the final round and without even a pole in hand, it was all down to Scott to secure the gold medal for Team GB. However, there's no better man for the job, and he and Hello Jefferson went clear. This replicated the feat that Scott and Ben achieved alongside Harry's father, Peter Charles, at London 2012. 

Scott has won the London leg of the Global Champions Tour an impressive three times, and he remains the only rider to win the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping. In 2025, he and Hello Jefferson were part of the British team who took the Longines League of Nations Final in Barcelona.

At the 2025 FEI European Championship, Scott debuted his latest ‘Hello’ superstar in the form of powerhouse chestnut mare Hello Folie, which was a successful one because they took team and individual silver.

The Hello prefix of all Scott’s horses come from long-term supporters Lady Pauline Harris and Lady Pauline Kirkham as their trademark.

Hello Mango

  • Known as: Mango

Scott has taken great care to produce this Untouchable 27-sired mare, in whom he’s always had the belief that she could be a top star. She has all the attributes needed of a world-class jumper, but can be sharp, so Scott has worked carefully to build confidence and their partnership.

Bred in the Netherlands, Hello Mango’s bloodlines are impressive, combining Holsteiner genetics with French joie de vivre. Her sire jumped to 1.60m, also.

The striking grey started her career under the ownership of Wilgo van de Mheen, with Dutch rider Patrick Lemmen starting her international career in 2021. Frederike Staack then took over the reins for Germany, before she was purchased by Poden Farms in mid 2022, where she was briefly competed by then-stable rider Lorenzo de Luca (ITA). Scott spotted her potential and the purchase was made.

Scott utilised young horse classes to nurture their relationship and took time to up the level and intensity of the competitions. In May 2024, they made their CSI5* debut together at home show Windsor, which was followed by a trip to CHIO Aachen. Scott lightly competed her through 2025, carefully selecting a mix of educational shows with some high profile to give vital experience – and many positives to give every chance to realise the potential.

He started the new year by taking a string of horses out to the Al Shaqab show in Doha, Qatar, where he could have a concentrated few weeks with the horses, and it proved to be a wise decision. He scored a number of wins, including a first five-star Grand Prix for Mango, which she won with a double clear and by just half a second.

In May, the duo returned to CHIO Aachen, moved to an earlier date to accommodate the FEI World Championships, and Mango competed the two qualifying legs of the Rolex Grand Prix, finishing sixth and fourth, and not lowering a rail over the three courses.

They were part of the fourth-placed Nations Cup Team in La Baule, which was followed up a month later with runners-up spot in the four-star Grand Prix at Chantilly.

Harry Charles 

  • Age: 26
  • Based in: Alton, Hampshire
  • World ranking: 38

Born in Belfast, Harry is the son of Peter Charles, who was part of the gold medal-winning jumping team at London 2012 – alongside Harry's now often team mates Ben Maher and Scott Brash. As a youngster, he had aspirations to be a pilot, but watching Peter win in London changed everything.

A successful youth rider, Harry made his senior championship debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with Romeo 88, where he was one of the youngest riders in the field. Since then, he has continued to impress, with results including winning the London leg of the FEI Jumping World Cup and the London Grand Prix at the London International Horse Show in 2021, and finishing fourth at the FEI Jumping World Cup Final the following year.

In 2022, Harry was part of the team that headed to the FEI Jumping World Championship in Herning, Denmark, where Great Britain won bronze – our first World Championship medal since 1998.

Harry is a regular face on the FEI Jumping Nations Cup circuit, including helping the British team to win at home soil at Hickstead in 2023. Later that year, he was selected to represent the British team at the FEI European Championship in Milano riding Casquo Blue.

Aged just 25, he got his second Olympic call up for Team GB in Paris with Romeo 88 and was a key player in securing a stunning team gold.

Last year was a relatively quiet one by Harry’s high standards, but he ended the summer on a high as part of the team who powered to victory in the Longines League of Nations Final, riding Sherlock.

In January 2026, he started his campaign for World Championship selection early, taking a number of horses to the Middle East and securing a number victories, including two CSI5* Grands Prix with Casquo Blue and two CSI5* two-phase classes with Bandit. In April, a new horse arrived in his stable – LT Holst Freda. Having been produced by New Zealander Julie Davey through the age classes up to Grand Prix, the gorgeous grey caught Harry’s eye and after the FEI World Cup Finals in Texas with Julie, she moved to Harry's Hampshire yard. Their first test together was part of the team for the Longines League of Nations and a superb triple clear – including the first jump-off for the win in LLN history – helped Britain to the win. Although still a new combination, this performance secured them a spot for the World Championship squad.

In 2024, Harry proposed fellow showjumper Eve Jobs and they married in a spectacular ceremony in the Cotswolds in July 2025.

LT Holst Freda

This grey mare is something of a heroine in her native New Zealand. The Kiwi jumping community has watched her grow and progress up the levels from a four-year-old to the world stage at the FEI World Cup Finals in Texas this spring. With rider and producer Julie Davey, she’s amassed countless titles. However, behind every successful horse is a good breeder – for Freda, that’s Ewen Mackintosh of LT Holst Sporthorses.

Ewen purchased Freda’s dam, LT Holst Andrea (sire: Cassall Ask) and Freda was one of her first year foals by embryo transfer. Julie Davey bought her from the stud as a two-year-old and now she’s part of one Britain’s powerhouse yards.

Freda contested the FEI World Cup Finals with Julie, where Harry fell in love with her instantly. “I think the stars aligned so that our paths crossed,” Harry told World of Showjmping. Originally, Freda was going to be for Harry's wife, Eve, but it was clear that Harry and the mare had a partnership from the off. Harry has been quick to praise the work done by Julie and acknowledges Freda wouldn’t have been easy to let go.

After  little over a month together, they were at their first show. Normally, Harry would take longer, but their bond was clear and he knew Freda’s attitude and outlook was ideal. It was agreed Harry could take Freda to Rotterdam as part of the Longines League of Nations team. It was a big gamble, but the belief in Harry’s faith paid off.  They produced three incredible clears around two 1.60m rounds and impressed everyone who watched. With three nations tied in first, it was a jump-off between Britain, Team USA and Team Switzerland. Harry and Freda were the nominated combination and first to go, and their amazing clear set the team up for a barnstorming performance to take the win.

They recently further cemented their partnership with a second place finish in the CSI4* Grand Prix at Valkenswaard, so head to Aachen in good from.

Ben Maher

  • Age: 43
  • Based in: Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire
  • World ranking: 5

Ben started riding at the age of eight, competing on the local showjumping circuit and joining The Pony Club. He went on to represent Great Britain on Pony, Junior and Young Rider teams, which saw him take team gold at the Young Rider European Championships in 2004. He was the first British showjumper to be ranked world number one in 2013 and was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List the same year.

Ben made his Olympic debut riding Roulette at Beijing 2008, then was part of the gold medal-winning team with Tripple X III at London 2012. He rode at Rio 2016 with Tic Tac, before winning the coveted individual gold at Tokyo 2020 with Explosion W. His most recent Olympic call-up came for Paris 2024, where the British team secured team gold, adding a third golden Games medal to Ben's collection. 

Alongside his Olympic appearances, Ben has ridden at seven FEI Jumping European Championships – he’s won one team gold medal, a team silver, two team bronzes and two individual silvers. With such a long and successful career, it’s surprising that his first FEI Jumping World Championship appearance only came in 2022, when he and Faltic HB helped Britain to a historic team bronze medal. At last year’s FEI Europeans in A Coruna, Ben was a key part of claiming team silver for Britain and finished a frustrating fourth individually.

Ben is a familiar face on Nations Cup teams and the Longines League of Nations.

Just weeks after his win in Tokyo, Ben married his partner and fellow showjumper Sophie. They welcomed son Cooper in 2022, who's already showing his parents' love of horses, then a baby daughter named Quinn joined the family in November 2024.

Point Break

  • Known as: Bodhi

Named after Patrick Swayze's character in the 1991 film Point Break, Bodhi joined Ben's enviable string in 2021 for loyal owners Charlotte Rossetter and Pamela Wright, and is proving a talented addition. Bred in Sweden, he won the nation's Stallion test as a four-year-old and was the top-ranked Swedish horse at the FEI WBFSH World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium. He jumped clear and was placed seventh overall. This result attracted Ben's attention and he used a mutual friend to contact breeder Anders Lagergreen and ask to view the stallion. 

He and Bodhi spent their first season together building their partnership in young horse and CSI1* classes, including a top-five finish at the prestigious Sparkassen-Youngsters Cup at CHIO Aachen. 

Bodhi made his CSI5* debut the following year, including a return to CHIO Aachen, and his first appearance at the Global Champions Tour. They've stayed consistent at the level ever since, regularly finishing inside the top 10. 

The stallion made his British team debut in March 2024, at the Longines League of Nations in Ocala. This was followed by a second League of Nations appearance at Rotterdam, where he and Ben jumped a double clear to help the Brits finish in third. This form earned Bodhi a place on the British team at Paris 2024, but Ben made the difficult decision to change to Dallas Vegas Batilly before the start of competition. However, he and Bodhi were back on form together later in the year, winning the CSI5* in Lyon with the only double clear in November, then taking runners-up spot in the Longines FEI World Cup qualifier in London just before Christmas.

Last year, it was a case of déjà vu for Bohdi. A win in Florida at the March Wellington CSI5* started the season well, before the duo won at Aachen. Selection for the FEI European Championships followed. However, working with his owners, Ben again opted to ride Dallas Vegas Batilly in A Coruna, so it was a case of nearly-nearly for Bodhi's championship debut.

Ben has been lightly campaigned the bay stallion through this year but they’ve enjoyed a number of top-seven placings in five-star competitions, most notably taking a spectacular victory in the Rotterdam Grand Prix in June.

Jack Whitaker

  • Age: 24
  • Based in: Whatton, Northamptonshire

Jack is the son of legendary showjumper Michael Whitaker. Unsurprisingly, he's been riding and competing for as long as he can remember, although he also enjoyed football and rugby as a child.

He achieved considerable success as a youth athlete, representing Great Britain on a number of occasions at Pony, Junior and Young Rider level and picking up both team and individual medals, including individual gold at the FEI Jumping Pony European Championship in 2016.

 In 2018, Jack competed at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where his team finished second – Jack considers this one of his most memorable achievements. 

He won team bronze and individual silver at the FEI Youth European Championships in July 2021 on Scenletha.

Now competing at Senior level, Jack is a regular face in the Global Champions League and FEI Jumping World Cup series. He reached the final for the latter in 2022, riding D&H Valmy de la Lande. He's also represented Great Britain at a number of FEI Jumping Nations Cups. 

Jack is based at his family's farm in Nottinghamshire, where he breeds and trains horses alongside his father. 

Jack JL

Dutch-bred Jack JL boasts impressive bloodlines – he's by the Zangershide stallion Bessemenind’s Quasimodo Z and his grand sire is the legendary Selle Francias stallion Quidam de Revel. Producing the talented grey was in the capable hands of rider Jonathan Dixon, under the ownership of David Dixon. Jonathan took him to two-star level and sold a half share to Candice Reilly after the Horse of the Year show in October 2024. They went on to take the Winter Grand Prix at Morris EC in Scotland in November 2024.

In April 2025, Candice Reilly took full ownership of the grey stallion and the ride passed to Jack. In the past 18 months, he’s campaigned the horse across a range of levels and heights, but the pair are building a great rapport. In March, they were part of the British team for the Longines League of Nations Ocala leg, where the Brits finished just off the podium. A couple of months later, they were back in British colours for the infamous Nations Cup at Piazza di Sienna in Italy and this time went one better to finish in bronze, with the duo producing a clear in round one and an unlucky pole in the second.

Most recently, Jack and Jack headed to Hickstead at the end of July and finished fourth in the great British classic, the Al Shira’aa King Geoge Gold Cup.

Adrian Whiteway

  •  Age: 35
  • Based in: Wraxall, Somerset
  • World ranking: 334

Adrian was  encouraged to ride from a young age by his mother, but admits to crying all the way to his first riding lesson because he didn't want to go. Originally, he set off on an eventing path, competing up to Intermediate level and Young Rider team trials. A trip to Badminton made him realise he had no aspirations to compete at the top level so, when the chance to sell his top eventer came calling, he made the tough decision. However, it enabled him to follow his true passion of jumping. Starting afresh in his early 20s was a daunting time, but his determination held fast and he slowly built up a competitive string, carving out a name for himself.

Adrian is now renowned for his ability to develop young horses and, from his Somerset base, rose through the ranks to get a first senior team call up aged 35. He prides himself on a hands-on approach at the yard and is very much an advocate for letting horses be horses, with all of his yard having regular turnout – ‘for as long as they want – they tell me when they want to come in’ he said in a recent interview. Additionally, all horses are treated as individuals and never rushed.

The horse that has put Adrian on the map is Deborah Cox’s bay stallion Chacco Volo, who he’s produced from a five-year-old. They’ve climbed through the ranks together and are now Nations Cup regulars. In July 2025, they made their five-star debut at CHIO Aachen.

The Nations Cup circuit is where Adrian has found his niche with consistent performer Chacco Volo. Up until July 2026, they’d had four consecutive appearances without fence down across eight rounds. This helped Britain to victory in St Tropez (2025), second at Hickstead (2025), third at Rome (2026) and third at St Gallen (2026). Their perfect record came to an unfortunate end at Hickstead this year, but they still were a key part of the winning British side. This consistency at five-star level has justly given them their championship debut at the FEI World Championships 2026, and fittingly at the venue where they competed at CSI5* level for the first time just last year.

Adrian cites his inspiration comes from riders such as Laura Kraut, Ben Maher and Scott Brash. He now finds himself out for dinner and sat in press conferences with them, which he says is ‘a dream come true’.

Chacco Volo

Bred in Germany by Gestut Lewitz, Chacco Volo, or just Chacco to his friends, is by prolific jumping stallion Chacco-Blue who has over 1200 progeny listed with the FEI and his damsire is Carthago. Having previously had horses with him, owner Deborah Cox put her faith in Adrian when the horse was just five and they been together ever since. From excelling in young horse classes in 2018 to a five-star debut at Aachen in 2025, Adrian has ridden him every step.

Chacco is a breeding stallion, and Adrian credits his stud work as the making of him from a riding standpoint.  He’s generally a laid-back character but can be cheeky at home with an occasional impromptu spin to keep everyone on their toes! Debrah has a few of his offspring and they’re already showing promise.

However, the last 18 months have been the stuff dreams are made of. A career best sixth place in the CSI4* at Sopot really put them on the radar and Performance Manager Di Lampard suggested they go five star. Adrian jumped at the chance, and it’s been a huge ride ever since.

Through 2025 up to June 2026 there have been four Nations Cup appearances for Adrian and Chacco at five-star level. Eight rounds, eight clears, four podium finishes. At their most recent team outing a Hickstead, the streak came to an end but the duo will be out to make amends on their well-earned championship debut back at the site of their five star premier, Aachen. And given the form they’ve been in, there’s every chance it’ll be one to remember.
