The Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS+) has launched a new riding centre management platform designed to help equestrian businesses operate more efficiently while keeping costs predictable during a challenging economic period for the sector.
Developed in partnership with EquiRider, the new system, Pegasys, will be available exclusively to ABRS+ members for a flat monthly fee of £45. The platform offers the same broad functionality as other leading equestrian management systems currently available in the United Kingdom but without complex pricing structures.
Running a riding centre requires coordinating horses, riders, staff schedules, lessons, events and finances, often across multiple systems. Pegasys has been designed to bring all of these functions together into one modern platform so centres can reduce administrative workload and gain greater operational oversight.
The system includes a central dashboard, recurring calendar, booking management, rider and client profiles, horse records and staff management tools. Centres can schedule lessons and events through bookable templates and quickly create recurring sessions while controlling availability. Finance features include invoicing, credit notes, recurring billing and integrated payments through Stripe.
Pegasys also supports horse welfare and professional standards within centres. The platform allows centres to track veterinary care, farrier visits, vaccinations, dentistry and physiotherapy with automated reminders and tools to monitor horse weight and condition.
Communication tools include family and group profiles, real time messaging and an integrated AI assistant to help centres stay organised and maintain clear communication with clients.
The system will also allow the ABRS+ to gather anonymised participation data across its member centres. This will help demonstrate the scale and impact of riding schools when engaging with larger funding bodies and national organisations.
By evidencing participation more clearly, ABRS+ aims to strengthen the charity’s ability to advocate for the sector and increase opportunities for member centres and other not for profit equestrian enterprises to access future funding and support.
George Baber, Director of Member Services and Operations at ABRS+, said, “Riding schools and equestrian centres are facing increasing pressure from rising costs and growing administrative demands. Pegasys has been developed to give our members access to a professional management system that supports efficient operations without adding financial strain.
By working with EquiRider we have been able to create a system designed specifically for the realities of running a riding centre and make it available to our members at a highly accessible price.”
The software has been trialled by ABRS+ members, and this is what they have to say:
Louise Buckner, Director of Island Riding, commented, “Pegasys is an easy, straightforward booking system that revolutionises riding schools’ ease for clients, staff and the financial payment system, saving staffing costs, time and money. It also makes a riding school more accessible and professional.”
Pegasys will be available to ABRS+ members from 1 April 2026.
