Britain has strong hold of the leaderboard after day one at Burghley Horse Trials

Under sunny, breezy skies – the perfect weather for eventing – day one of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials heralded the return of one of the sport’s most loved fixtures after a three-year absence. At the halfway stage, Britain have taken control of the dressage phase, with the home team grabbing the top four placings, including with three new personal best scores, and the top three positions occupied by World Class Programme riders.
