The countdown to the Agria FEI Eventing European Championships and annual Agria Blenheim International Horse Trials is officially on, with only 100 days to go until Blenheim Palace opens its gates to some of the biggest stars in eventing, from 18 – 21 September.
This year’s Agria FEI Eventing European Championships promise to be a thrilling showdown. Great Britain comes in as the reigning European Champion and Olympic team gold medal holders, but fierce competition looms from Germany, who claimed individual gold in Paris 2024, and France, who secured team silver. With all three powerhouses eyeing the top podium spot, the battle for the European title is set to be an edge-of-your-seat spectacle.
While the headline class will grab plenty of attention, this year’s event also shines a spotlight on the sport’s future with the return of the GFS Saddles 8 & 9 year old class and the popular evoke™ Eventer Challenge. Both classes offer a unique opportunity for spectators to spot future stars, with the GFS Saddles 8 & 9 year old class having notable alumni including multiple five-star winners Ballaghmor Class and Lordships Graffalo, with the evoke™ Eventer Challenge allowing grassroots riders from Pony Clubs and Riding Clubs a chance to compete on a big stage.
Although this is set to be a major fixture in the eventing calendar, for those looking for a family fun weekend at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are plenty of other activities on offer. For younger family members, there is a range of entertainment, including the opportunity to meet the much-loved equestrian YouTube star and children's book author ThisEsme; you may even spot social media sensation Meg Elphick, who is confirmed to be at the Horse Trials this year.
Make a weekend out of it by setting up camp, whether this is on the fantastic lawns of Blenheim in your own tent or through Green Yurts glamping, and come along for all five days of thrilling countryside entertainment and sport.
“The Horse Trials is shaping up to be one of the most exciting events in the calendar this year,” commented Event Director Katrina Midgley. “We are thrilled to be hosting the Agria FEI Eventing European Championships, but also to have such a spectacular range of sponsors, influencers and activities on offer for spectators to enjoy.”
If you’re looking to upgrade your experience, enjoy the private hospitality pod perfectly positioned overlooking the iconic Bladon Bridge and famous water crossing.
