As eventing stories go, today’s will earn a place in the sport’s folklore as the combination of Piggy March and the evergreen mare Vanir Kamira became one of only 14 combinations to win both Badminton and the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. In a thrilling finale, it went right down to the wire, but one of eventing’s most loved partnerships held their nerve to take the well-deserved top honours, having finished as runners-up twice here before.
