Registration is now open for athletes who would like to be considered for the 2021–2023 Podium Potential Squad. Further details on the selection process and the registration form can be found below.
Podium Potential Pathway identifies, supports and develops younger athletes who demonstrate the potential to progress to compete for Great Britain on Senior Championship teams in the future. The focus is on education and development of the foundation skills required for future performance. This level of the World Class Programme aims to help athletes from national youth programmes, and those who have already progressed to senior level, make the transition into higher levels of the performance pathway.
Selected athletes access top equestrian specialists whilst on the programme, including international coaches with human and equine sport science support from physiotherapists, sport psychologists, nutritionists, vets, farriers and saddlers.
Podium Potential Pathway is funded by The National Lottery, via UK Sport and Sport England.
Athletes wishing to be considered for selection are required to complete and return the registration form before 31 August 2020. The registration form is available below.
An athlete must achieve the Minimum Performance Standards, set out in the selection policy for their respective discipline, between 1 June 2019 and 31 November 2020 to be considered for selection. The timescales for achievement of Minimum Performance Standards have been adjusted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent suspension of equestrian competitions in 2020. For those who achieve the Minimum Performance Standards, the form will be made available on 1 September 2020 and must be completed by 31 November 2020.
If an athlete and horse combination fulfil the requirements of Stage 1 and Stage 2, they will be invited forward to attend a ridden Programme Squad training session.
Please carefully read the selection policy for your discipline.
Athletes wishing to be considered for selection are required to complete and return the registration form by Monday 31 August 2020 in order to progress to any further stage in the selection process.
