It’s been a strange year for me. My top mare, Classic Briolinca, injured herself early on in the selection process and I thought my Olympic dreams were done. At that stage, Sintano Van Hof Olympia (Piglet) hadn’t actually done an international, then all of a sudden he was getting scores which put him in the mix despite still very inexperienced at this level. I knew he was there or there abouts, but when Judy [Harvey, Chair of Selectors] called to say that we were getting the call-up, I was thrilled.
