early equestrian experiences

I was born and grew up in Dubai. My mum was yard manager of a massive Equestrain centre for almost 20years, So I was practically born in the stables! I was part of the Dubai Pony Club teams since I can remember until I left to the UK in 2015. I did everything in Dubai, we had dressage, showjumping, eventing, gymkhana games and so much more. I’ve always loved dressage and ended up specializing in dressage after moving to the UK as my event horse we brought back with us had lots of feet issues that were manageable in Dubai but not so much in the early years here, restricting his jumping.

Youth teams

I did the FEI World junior dressage challenge from when I was eligible to compete till, I was out of juniors. Winning consecutive years with my first horse Jack. Dubai didn’t have many other youth teams so I’ve always competed as a senior in everything else. When I moved to the UK I got the opportunity to  ride an amazing mare which eventually I did young riders on, being long listed for the 2020 Europeans until that got cancelled due to Covid.

key moments

Competition Milestone would be:

  • Winning the Spinneys cup (our biggest eventing show in Dubai)
  • Winning the FEI challenge in Dubai.
  • My first winter nationals was at inter 1 and qualifying through to the freestyle finishing top 10 was the biggest show I’d done to date.
  • Winning Keysoe International at young riders.
  • Training my first horse from being backed to U25 GP, soon to do a senior GP

Behind the scenes milestones would be training with Carl Hester. Someone I could only dream of meeting never mind training with. Thanks to him I met Nicola Buchanan who has just transformed my riding and expanded my knowledge more than I can explain. I’ve so thankful for the team I have behind the scenes, I’m so lucky to have met them all and for them to be so supportive of us.

home life

I am based at home with my horses. It has been a long time finding the right property and doing up. We have 11 stables in a courtyard feel, taking in training Liverys as well as having my competition horses and young stock into back, train and bring up the levels. We have an indoor, outdoor with all year-round turnout which is just amazing for the horse's minds and bodies. Finding a property that was designed and dedicated to creating happy and healthy athletes to the best of our ability!

I train weekly with Nicola Buchanan at home, and monthly with Carl Hester.

equestrian ambitions

The aim is of course the Olympics! That has been the aim and dream since I can remember. This year i’m aiming to ride my first grand prix test, then to gain confidence and experience to get international qualifying scores. I’d love to do HOYS next year and start doing some internationals with my up and coming small tour horse.

being on the world class programme

Wow, being on the programme was a massive shock and privilege, and a opportunity I won’t let go to waste. The human side of things, has already been so helpful, getting me stronger through PT, Physio, nutrition and so much more. The opportunities and support through the equestrian side is amazing and has pushed my riding so much. I’m looking forward to the up and coming training camps to see where we can improve further.

anything else

I’m a BHS Qualified instructor. I’m love being outside and a bit of an adrenaline seeker. Skydiving, go ape, zip lining, snowboarding…I love it!

I was on the junior squash team in Dubai and the UK, letting my competitive nature come through by never letting my husband win!
