I live in Gwynedd, North Wales and my horses are based in Ynys Môn/Anglesey with my coach, Sara Jones-Williams. I have two amazing dance partners – my little 14.1hh pony Brandini, sired by Hilkens Black Delight, and my not-so-little horse Temple Ogue, out of the stallion Verdi. In his past career, Temple Ogue was a showing superstar and now has turned to the world of para dressage! I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy, which affects my whole body, but definitely not my passion to sport.
I have been riding since before I could even sit up properly, thanks to my mum's horsey background and her search to help my development. I first started at Clwyd SRC RDA Centre when I was 18 months old, having hippotherapy with an incredible lady called Lynne Munro, who who helped me gain strength, coordination, confidence and even got my speech going on horseback. I started having riding lessons at five years old and doing a bit of showing on my first pony, Percy. At the age of eight, I had met my coach Sara and her wonderful pony Trinny. Trinny took me from my first ever dressage test in RDA all the way to my international debut! My parents have been a huge part of my journey so far and I'm forever grateful for all their support.
My key moments to date have been when I competed abroad for the first time at Waregem and won all three days of the CPEDI2*. More recently, I competed in my first CEPDI3* international and coming third in the freestyle with 71%! Growing up as a young para rider, I’ve been proud to represent Wales three years in a row at the BD Para Home Nations, riding alongside some wonderful teammates and friends, and also winning the team competition back in 2022.
Over the next year, I will like to establish myself at CPEDI3* internationally with Brandini and develop a partnership with Temple Ogue while competing internationally together.
I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Podium Potential Pathway and can’t wait for all the opportunities and adventures. I’m excited to see what TASS and Sport England has to offer, plus all the expert advice from the World Class Team. I feel so lucky to ride with some incredible riders on the squad and learn as much as I can ready for the future.
When I’m not on the road doing what I love the most – riding and competing my horses – I attend school and have other hobbies, such as reading, going to the gym, socialising and getting my nails or hair done.
Growing up, I did many different sports that were available to me, such as triathlon that I enjoyed the challenge of, but always came back to the love of horses.
