Early Equestrian Experiences

I've ridden since I was tiny. My mum (Mary King) has been very involved in the sport and I think I could actually ride before I could walk. I did lots of Pony Club activies from when I was very small, but I didn’t do a huge amount on Pony eventing teams because I was very tall very quickly, so I went on to horses quite soon.

YOUTH TEAMS

I was part of the team at every FEI Junior Eventing European Championship bewteen 2011 and 2014, then did the FEI Young Rider Eventing European Championship in 2015.

KEY MOMENTS

When we won gold as a team in Strzegom (2015), I remember being really special. We had a really close-knit performance and it was great being part of the team, bouncing ideas off each other. We all did really well individually, as well. It was my first real feeling of how good it is to be part of a team and it pushes you to perform better. The team feeling actually boosted all of our performances.

Home Life

I am based with my partner, Sam Ecroyd, in North Wales, just near Chester. We have the horses there and we run our business from the farm. We do a lot of training and coaching from there and have some good, consistent clients.

Equestrian Ambitions

I would love to get on the British senior team and I would love to win medals for our country, both as a team and individually. I want to be as successful as possible at CCI5* level.

Being on the World Class programme

It is a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge in all the areas that relate to your performance and make your performance as good as possible. I think it's great at giving us the access to top practitioners, who are experts in their field and can analyse our performance and support us to be better in what we do. It is all about taking the information that they give us and putting it into practice ourselves.

Anything else

This is very random but, when I was 12 years old, I was a National High Jump champion. I used to be very springy, but I am not sure how springy I would be now!
