early equestrian experiences

I have always been interested in horses and started riding lessons when I was 3 years old. One of my earliest memories was riding a rocking horse in front of the TV when the racing was on.

Both my grandparents on my Dad’s side were jockeys and rode under NH rules they  also both trained racehorses alongside running the family farm. My Dad, David, rode in point to points as an amateur and my mum, Sue, has always loved horses growing up.

I started at North Cotswold pony club and then later joined Ledbury pony club. Growing up with the ponies, I turned my hand to everything and anything to do with horses, from eventing, jumping, dressage, riding round Cheltenham pony racing, working hunters and show classes too. I eventually settled with the eventing around the age of 14.

After I finished my A levels I became a working pupil for Padraig McCarthy and Lucy Wiegersma in Devon before setting up my own yard in 2021.

youth teams

I was selected for the central team at the u18 Championships in 2019 and campaigned a number of horses through the Junior and Young Rider ranks. Although I didn’t quite make it onto a team, I learnt a huge amount through that period that I have been able to take onto other horses.

key moments

I won my first International in the Young Rider 3* at Cornbury in 2021and have since picked up a number of International wins and podium finishes on a variety of horses. Taking my first horse after coming off ponies, Low Moor Lucky, all the way from BE100 to Badminton 5*... and then going into the lead in the dressage even if it wasn’t for long!

Winning the U25 National Championship at Bramham and also finishing 3rd.

And of course being selected for the World Class Programme.

home life

I am based at my parents home in Hartpury, Gloucestershire, where I have (with the help of my parents) slowly put in facilities over the  years so that the horses have everything they need. I am also very fortunate to have other top facilities locally like gallops and a water treadmill. I have two younger sisters who also both ride.

equestrian ambitions

In the next few years I will try to defend the U25 National Championship and aim at some Nations Cups whilst adding quality, strength and depth to my string of horses. I aims to represent team GB at senior Championships including the Olympics in years to come.

being on the world class programme

Every aspect of the World Class Programme has already been a benefit, not just the training aspect from top coaches but also industry experts across the board from vets, physios, farriers and nutritionists. Having professional advice for all needs of both horses and rider is invaluable. An added benefit is how the World Class team work alongside our home team in order to make sure their is consistency for our horses and that nothing gets missed even when looking at things in finer detail.

anything else

I am a big fan of all sport in general and will watch or play any sport given the opportunity. I also enjoy going to the gym and socialising with friends whether that is at an event or away from horses.
