I started riding at the age of five or six, mainly because my sister did, too. I started eventing with the Pony Club, doing multiple Pony Club championships at Novice(90) level. At the age of 12, I took the ride on my sister's pony, who she had done a few Pony trials on, and competed in Pony trials. I finally moved onto horses in 2014 when I was 15, mainly because my ponies were both injured, and I started riding the horse Kananaskis at this time when he was only six. Five years on and we are both competing together at 4* level.
In my free time I like to go cycling (in nice weather) and I enjoy shooting on the farm (I have my firearms license). I'm also an avid follower of Formula 1 – although competing at weekends leaves me trying to watch the F1 at competitions!
I am at Derby University studying civil engineering. During term time, it can be challenging to organise the horses, but I have a very good and experienced team at home that keep the horses in top shape.
I have been part of the Junior European eventing team twice, in 2016 and 2017, picking up a team bronze and silver medals respectively. More recently, I was part of the Nations Cup team at Houghton 2019, where we came third as a team and I was ninth individually.
